Some Things to Remember About Citalopram

Have you heard of the drug called citalopram or taken it at one time or another? It is usually prescribed for clinical depression cases. Citalopram should be taken only when there is a proper prescription given by your doctor. Moreover, prior to taking the drug, you should honestly tell your doctor if you are suffering from other medical or psychological problems. Citalopram should not be given to patients suffering from bipolar disorders, heart failures, epilepsy, cirrhosis of the liver, or particular allergies. In addition, citalopram should not be taken with certain substances or drugs, like alcohol. Alcohol is also a drug and it is classified as a depressant. The relationship between Citalopram and alcohol is not a safe or good one. Citalopram can increase the negative side-effects of alcohol and trigger the symptoms of depression even more. In addition, bodily functions, especially ones motor skills will be substantially affected by combining these two. As much as possible, avoid taking them together.
